KD REV II 5-String Multi Scale bass custom made for Krasimir Yanakiev – bass player for the Bulgarian band, HANGAR 42.
Krasimir contacted me to enquire about a 5-string bass that would be capable of handling a greater variety of music styles that would also be able to be drop tuned with ease. We discussed different model options, constructions and specifications and ended up choosing the Rev II model, which had already proven its quality.
With great focus on its appearance we discussed the variances of wood available for the top. In the end, we decided on the extraordinary Stabilized Maple Burl top with its unique patterns and striations, making the bass unparalleled.
Body: Seasoned Bulgarian spotted Alder plus the phenomenal stabilized Maple burl top. Wenge veneer lamination in between.
