The “Tiger” is an entirely handcrafted superstrat guitar specially made for a very special customer.
Here are his words after receiving the instrument:
“The “Tiger” is not a guitar! It is a work of art! I have been looking for a new guitar for a long time, visited stores all over the world but it simply never made click. Slowly I was thinking of having a custom guitar made for me. Something very personal. But checking with Suhr Guitars made me realize that I only have to tick the boxes on about 3 pages and wait for 24 months. Not appealing and not really personal. I looked online for a private luthier and fate has led me to you, Kostadin. You were the first one I contaced and I am forever grateful I found you. From the first mail and phone call I had a good feeling and the hundreds of emails we exchanged showed me how personal such a project can get. I had some very special ideas (especially koa-wood, compound fretboard and inlay) and you fulfiled them all, and never you told me “that’s impossible“. Your expertise, your texts and the pictures you sent me regularly helped me a great deal to guide me to the perfect guitar that I now hold in my hands. The “Tiger” is simply perfect, the European ash tonewood that you chose for me is incredible, very well defined in the mids and I have never heard such a lovely long sustain. It took us some time to find the perfect top because I only wanted Koa. In the end you found African Koa with a white stripe (perfect book-matching), the result is simply magnificent. I wanted to have the Japanese character „Tiger“ on the 12th fret, a detail that means a lot to me personally. And after a long journey you found a way to do it in mother of pearl, the result blew me away. I have no clue how you treated the ebony fretboard, but it has an incredible touch and bending is extremely accurate and smooth. Honestly one of the best parts is the neck, I wanted a shape that changes from C to modern D and has a silky touch. What you delivered is something I could not imagine im my wildest dreams. The Häussel pickups that you have suggested are in their own league. The best tone for me is the joint force of neck + blade in the single-coil setting. In every aspect you exceeded my (very high) expectations about the tiger. And the belt with the strap locks you have had made for me was a super nice detail. I can’t thank you enough for your guidance your expertise and your extraordinary craftmanship. You knew exacly what my dream was and you made it come alive. And as if that was not enough I also want to thank you for your kindness, your humbleness, your patience and your passion to deliver exactly the guitar that I had in mind. No! actually even better than the one I had in mind.”
