Affect is the name of rock-band created by Mr. Valeri Nikolov, who contacted me and said: Kostadin, I need a light-weight guitar for my band. Can you make such guitar for me?
Yes! – I answered.
What particulary you want? How you want the guitar to look like? – I asked.
Mr. Nikolov said: I want a guitar as light as possible and to look like a normal guitar. Not headless, not unusual or extraordinary shapes – just a normal looking electric guitar.
This was what I needed. So the project Affect began.
The guitar is made entirely of Bulgarian (Balkan) wood materials.
Technical specifications:
Body: Bulgarian Basswood – one piece plus heavy flamed and rare Bulgarian Red Willow Drop Top. Extra chambered body.
Neck: Three pieces 14 years seasoned Balkan (Bulgarian) Maple plus Walnut veneer at the glue-points. Angled headstock. CONE Core construction:
- 12” fingerboard radius
- 25,5” (647,7mm) scale
- 20mm (0.787″) thickness at the 1-st fret
- 22mm (0.866″) thickness at the 12-th fret
- 43mm (1.692″) width at the nut
- Two way/course truss rod
- Matching headstock
- 22 Medium jumbo Stainless Steel frets
Fingerboard: Bulgarian (Balkan) Maple
Construction: Bolt-on, 4 strews plus bushings
Tuners: GOTOH locking.
Bridge: Gotoh fixed bridge
Pickups: Haeussel calibrated set:
- Bridge: VIN + B A5 Bridge, Chrome cover
- Neck: ST Klinge (Humbucker in single), AlNiCo 8 magnet
Electronic/Controls:
- 3-possition blade pickup switch
- Master VOLUME
- Master TONE Push/Pull splits both pickups together
Nut: Bone
Finish: Dark Mahogany stained body and headstock. Polyester high gloss finish. Backside of the neck and the fingerboard are treated with Oil.
Strap pins: Standard
Weight: 2,650kg (5.8lbs)
Copper shielding protects the entire electronic box and pickups.
